Prayer of the Faithful

The Prayer of the Faithful.

Sunday 12th July 2020

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Lord promises us that the word goes out from his mouth and does not return empty without carrying out his will. So, filled with confidence in his word, we come before him now with all our needs.

For Pope Francis and all the church – that our proclamation of the Word of God might produce a rich harvest of prayer and devotion.
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

Let us pray for our government and our leaders – that they might lead with examples of love and kindness in all the work they do and be guided in their decision-making by selflessness.
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

On this Sea Sunday, let us pray for all those at sea, especially those who have been away from their families during this pandemic due to their work.
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

For the parishes of Saint Dunstan at Keynsham and Saint Bernadette at Whitchurch – that they might be filled with the love of the Holy Spirit as they pray together at this time.
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

Let us pray with the Pope for all families – that they might be filled with love for each other and be able to support one another through difficulties.
Lord in your mercy – hear our prayer

Let us ask Mary, our mother, to join us in our prayers as we pray, Hail Mary…

Merciful Father, you have made us your children and loved us. Teach us to love each other and to follow the example of our Lord, Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen
