The Parish Mission Statement
“We the Christians of Saint Edmund’s, Calne, as a worshipping, teaching and serving community, pledge ourselves, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to further the mission of Jesus Christ and his church in this corner of his vineyard, by working for the reconciliation of human beings with God and with each other.”
Saint Edmund’s Parish is within the Diocese of Clifton.

Patrick (Paddy) Auger was a parishioner of Saint Edmund’s in the 1980s, living in Calne and working as an accountant.
He studied at The Pontifical Beda College in Rome and was ordained a deacon at the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls in Rome on 7th June 1991, prior to being ordained as a priest here at Saint Edmund’s on 26th June 1992 by Bishop Mervyn Alexander.
After a period of illness Father Patrick Auger, as Parish Priest of the church of The English Martyrs, Chard, Somerset, died on 31st October 2013.
